Dry River vineyard from a bird’s eye view

Stunning aerial footage of the crew laying bird nets throughout the vineyard

Our Blog

With veraison well on its way at Dry River, the need for protecting our grapes against birds from this point onward is high. Our bird protection techniques have come a long way since the days of the crew patrolling the vines during daylight hours on quad bikes or protecting with gas guns.

On one beautiful morning last week we had a drone come visiting and the resulting aerial footage that was taken of the process is quite breath-taking. The big blue skies, contrasting with the white billowing nets and the geometric rows of vines makes the whole procedure look, let’s just say slightly more picturesque than it was on the ground. It definitely captures the crew working together to lay full coverage over our crops – and you can see James getting captured himself along the way!

We hope you enjoy the movie, please watch and share.
